How Health Tech Liberia came to life.
Health Tech Liberia began as a simple question shared among health workers, technologists, and young people in Liberia: what if the same phones and tools we use every day could quietly strengthen our clinics and communities? From informal conversations and volunteer projects, the idea grew into a small, focused initiative committed to practical, human-centered digital health.
In our early days, we sat in crowded waiting rooms, community meetings, and youth spaces, listening more than we talked. We saw paper registers overflowing, staff stretched thin, and young people looking for safe places—offline and online—to ask questions about their health and mental wellbeing. These realities shaped our DNA: build light, context-aware tools; invest in people first; and always design with clinics, communities, and youth at the center.
Today, Health Tech Liberia works with partners across Liberia and the diaspora to turn that original question into action. We co-create digital health solutions, mental health and psychosocial support tools, and youth-led innovation programs that fit low-bandwidth settings, respect privacy, and honor local wisdom. Our story is still being written—with every clinic we support, every youth we train, and every community we listen to.

Welcome to Health Tech Liberia
Health Tech Liberia is a forward-thinking initiative that applies digital tools, data, and human-centered design to strengthen Liberia’s health and wellbeing systems. We work alongside clinics, community health workers, youth, and partners to co-create solutions that reflect the realities of both urban and rural communities.
Our mission is to bridge the digital divide in health by improving access to information, services, and psychosocial support. From digital literacy and mental health tools to simple dashboards and low-bandwidth telehealth pilots, we focus on solutions that are practical, inclusive, and respectful of the people using them every day.
Working at the intersection of technology, health, and social impact, Health Tech Liberia supports youth-led innovation, clinic workflows, and stronger community-level data. Together with local and diaspora partners, we are committed to building a more connected, caring, and resilient health ecosystem for Liberia.
